Systems Administrator - Windows Server/Active Directory, TCP/IP and Networking, PowerShell/Automation, Azure/M365/Intune

Our leading law firm client are looking to recruit a Systems Administrator (Windows Server/Active Directory, TCP/IP and Networking, PowerShell/Automation, Azure/M365/Intune) on a permanent basis to support the business in exploring and implementing cloud-based technologies (mainly Microsoft) as well as maintaining on-premise infrastructure.

The firm currently hosts its systems on-premises using Microsoft systems on VMWare. Over the next few years they are looking to gradually migrate their infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.

They are now looking for a Systems Administrator (Windows Server/Active Directory, TCP/IP and Networking, PowerShell/Automation, Azure/M365/Intune) to join the team to help maintain there existing infrastructure and migrate to the cloud. Also supporting end user applications including Microsoft 365.

Key duties and responsibilities for this Systems Administrator (Windows Server/Active Directory, TCP/IP and Networking, PowerShell/Automation, Azure/M365/Intune) are:

• Ensure all systems and applications are continuously improved and meet the evolving needs of the firm.
• Understand and know the Microsoft Office/Windows roadmap and the required architecture to deliver an optimum user experience.
• Understand how this will evolve over time and identify and mitigate risks that could impact user experience in the future.
• Identify opportunities to upgrade, migrate to SaaS or fully replace systems that are not meeting service or business expectations.
• Effective problem management of platform issues.
• Ensuring security best practices are adhered to.

• Maintain existing Windows Server infrastructure
• This is not an exhaustive list. The post-holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties in line with the overall purpose and level of the role and as the needs of the business change over time.

• Clear and concise communicator both verbally (through conversation and presentation) and written in email - able to translate complex technical issues in a simple concise way.
• Takes personal ownership and pride in the quality of solutions delivered.
• Good under pressure - able to deal with critical periods of delivery and can handle when things go wrong.
• Ensures a solution orientated mindset is always used and doesn't cut corners when time is short.
• Proven track record of managing an Office 365 tenant.
• Experience with Azure AD, on-prem AD, Group Policy management and administration.
• Experience of working with cloud-based solutions (preferred).
• Experience of working in legal sector (not essential).
• Experience of working with cloud storage solutions (preferred).
