The key purpose of this role is to support SME businesses to access finance through the Start-Up Loans scheme. The Business Advisors manage a portfolio of customers, building relationships and rapport to enable them to obtain the information required from the customer. The role consists of assessing applications end to end to ensure that the Business is viable, and the loan is affordable for the customer.

Business Advisors are responsible for nurturing their own caseload from SUL leads to ensure that we can support as many customers as possible to achieve an outcome and access finance. This is a target driven role and performance is primarily based on number of loans agreed, average conversion rates, journey lengths, adherence to policy and customer satisfaction.

The Business Advisor will also provide guidance and support to the entrepreneurs they work with to help prepare them to start or grow their business. This will include helping to nurture the business idea to enable them to assess whether this is viable and suitable for funding. The role encompasses pre-loan support that the Business Advisor will provide to customers to ready them for the assessment process
