Python/JavaScript Developer | Up to £55k | Hybrid

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons is a vibrant, diverse organisation dedicated to supporting veterinary practices in the UK through their educational, ethical and clinical standards for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses, ensuring the health and welfare of animals in their care.

In line with the forward-looking values of RCVS, they provide a range of web applications and services to their members, and as such are looking to recruit a Software Developer with experience of Python and JavaScript to help drive forward their continued investment in cloud and microservices, as well as supporting the operational side of the organisation by transforming business processes and delivering new digital services.

Alongside this, the Development team play a key support role, ensuring a range of key systems and services have optimum uptime and are functioning effectively.

Core Skills

The successful candidate should have the following:

• Experience working with Python 3 and modern JavaScript
• Good understanding of SQL
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong on-going business relationships with internal IT colleagues and end-user business customers
• Experience working in a CI/CD environment
• Exposure to Typescript, React, Redux, Gatsby, Django, Django REST Framework, and similar tools is desirable but not essential
