Prep Chef - Edinburgh Street Food

As an integral part of the Street Food team, the position involves carrying out preparatory tasks within the business street food kitchen, as well as cooking dishes to order and communicating with guests. Operations will always take place under clear direction from the Stall Manager / Owner. This opportunity is perfect for a hardworking, organised and methodical chef who is looking for a job in sociable kitchen environment with some guest interaction.

Department

This position is fixed to one of our 10 different street food vendors within Edinburgh Street Food.

Reporting

This position reports to the Unit Manager / Owner

Location

Edinburgh Street Food, Greenside Row, Edinburgh, EH1 3AA. However, work may on occasion take place outside of this location.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out daily cooking operations in the stall, predominantly preparing pre-defined menu items for sale, but also carrying out preparatory work in the kitchen.
• Receiving, recording and managing deliveries into the site
• Striving to maintain food quality for all dishes.
• Solving unanticipated issues that arise. This will be done with assistance from the Stall Manager.
• Ensuring the highest level of kitchen cleanliness and personal hygiene is maintained.
• Occasionally assisting with the ordering of produce for kitchen production.
• Compliance with safety legislation.
• Reporting on any necessary maintenance.
