Salary: £90,000-£100,000 (Dependant on experience) + Bonus

My client are well established Software company in London who privide services to the Energy Trading sector. They are looking for an experienced Lead software engineer who will help create and lead a brand new team, working on a widely used energy trading platform. You will work across their cross-functional teams of software engineers, test engineers and devops engineers to help drive scalability and reliability improvements to their systems. You will be liaising with their infrastructure teams to help modernize the platform and implement SRE practices.

Ideally you have at least 2-3 years of experience building and scaling distributed systems and you feel comfortable working on a wide range of complex topics. You are someone who values mechanical sympathy.

You will be given the chance to interview and hire SDEs/SREs who will be reporting directly to you. Responsibilities include;

• Lead, coach and develop high performing engineers

• Set individuals development and performance objectives

• Ensure key operational processes are continually improved, documented and communicated

• Coordinate work according to priorities and ensure stakeholders are updated on progress

• Collaborate on design proposals (RFCs), ensuring scalability and performance is taken into account

• Serve as a role model and ensure the team follows SRE best-practices
