Parts Distribution Manager for Global Automotive Client

Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Parts Distribution Manager to join our client on an ongoing long term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months.
Location: Northampton, UK. (Candidates should be based within a reasonable commute)
Assignment type: 12 months contract where you will be engaged via Hays
Working environment: Hybrid working is an option after training based on a blended approach of "50% working time in the office"
Hours per week: 37.5
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate (inside IR35)
The Parts Distribution Manager will be a key member of the Parts and Logistics team ensuring timely deliveries of parts and accessories to the Clients Retailer Network. As the role holder you will support the Warehouse Planning Manager in managing parts distribution through collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders. You will also act as a point of contact for Distribution Centres around the UK.
Key responsibilities
- Day to day contact for warehouse supplier with weekly KPI reviews.
- Ensuring high levels of service and on time deliveries to our Retailers are maintained and processed in line with our SLA's.
- Ensure assets are returned in good time for processing in line with Retailers SLA's
- Monitor resource utilisation and capacity.
- Oversee warehouse stock and quality management.
- Track budget performance vs the contract planned value.
- Overall Responsibility for tendering and implementation of suppliers and implementation of subsequent contract changes.
- Ensure transport providers are legally compliant with relevant legislation (DVSA, Dangerous goods).
- Provide clear and open communication regarding supply disruptions, service interruptions and policy changes.
Skills/Experience:
- Ideally minimum 5 years background in parts logistics with rounded understanding of automotive parts supply chain.
- Experience of working within or managing automotive transport suppliers.
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to think strategically and initiate change.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Project management experience.
