Position Overview
To lead the management of quality at the Gillingham site supplier base to support Manufacturing performance
Roles & Responsibilities
- Reporting to plant Purchasing Manager, the plant SQE is responsible for supplier quality at plant level.
- Working with Engineering operations plant Quality and Vendor Quality to support operational goals.
- Provide regular feedback to the plant leaders, ensuring business objectives and targets are achieved.
- When required support the plant with supplier related issues at the supplier's facility. This is not limited to quality but includes capacity related issues.
- When applicable raise plant related issues including new product launches to Supply chain team
- Use standard tools and techniques for supplier investigation activity to ensure optimum quality is achieved.
- Keep accurate records of meetings and visits for traceability and cascading of information purposes.
- Support pass through customer impacting issues by effective cross functional workshops including design change & MCIP
- Maintain related documentation within piece part dedicated files.
- Support VQ technician in containment and escalation of problem case notification allowing suppliers time to respond within the designated 24-hour allocation.
- Raise problem cases in the appropriate systems, achieving timing & full conclusion.
- Support TS & customer audits to protect plants accreditation from a supply's quality perspective.
- Support New product introduction (Hydrogen) Technical reviews and cross functional activity
- Facilitate appropriate cost recovery of non-conformance from Suppliers
- Ensure plant ppap files are maintained and up to date.
- If there is a need to be at the supplier to support plant related issues arrange and notify travel accordingly
- Closure of open issues in line with APQP

Skills
Mandatory
- Intermediate computer (MS Office) skills
- Good Communication skills
- Basic RISK assessment skills
- Understanding of technical drawings, geometric and material specifications.
- An appreciation of manufacturing process and measurement techniques.
Desirable
- Problem case reduction and SCM organisational ppm targets
- Be able to be effective on time problem case closure
- Run reports to support plant and divisional reporting.
- Be able to identify supplier related cost recoveries affecting the plant, record and recover through problem solver

Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Software skills in management operating system Software, & Microsoft office.
- Understand Business requirements to support operational and Supply chain management requirements
- Understanding of quality operating systems
Desirable
- Academic qualification in quality or Engineering
