Lead Data Engineer - Leading Online Retailer - Up to £85,000 - GCP & Leadership

A leading high-end retailer is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their team.

The company have recently implemented Dynamics 365 as their internal ERP system and have also created the data engineering function in order to connect all their systems so they can drive insights from their consumer data.

As the Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for both technical and leadership duties. On the leadership side, you will be responsible for managing a team of 2 (1x Data Engineer & 1x PBI developer). You will be working closely with them in order to help train them up and also, spread the work across the team. On the technical side, you will lead the team in order to further establish the data platform. You will act as the face of the Data function so will be required to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Required Skills:

• GCP Ideally, although experience with Azure/AWS is also suitable
• Deep understanding of data architecture (Data bricks/Data warehousing etc)
• Experience in design/building of data models
• Ability to work across the full development life cycle (From requirements gathering to implementation)
• Previous experience in managing/leading a team

This is a company who has experienced huge growth and now need to improve their data platform so they can continue on the journey and understand their consumers on a much deeper level.

The company's head office is based in Newcastle and they are looking for the Lead Data Engineer to be in the office once per month.
