As part of the Staffordshire Digital Innovation Partnerships project, Staffordshire University has entered into a partnership with Clive Durose an innovative and growing Staffordshire based manufacturing company, and are looking to recruit a graduate intern to take on a 24 week project involving designing, planning and implementing a system to integrate quality assessment and stock control management within a prototype material requirements planning (MRP) system.
Duties & responsibilities
* Work with Operations Team to investigate company’s current position and changes necessary for the objectives of the project.
* Perform feasibility analysis on project regarding development methodology:
* Employing open-source solution
* Customising open-source solution
* Custom build of protype system.
* Work with the management team to create a project plan
* Liaise with management team & IT consultants to design new processes and systems.
* Research and advice on hardware for project
* Communicate with warehouse team & management team to implement project
* Test systems before and during implementation ensuring minimum disruption to the business.
* Training the team to ensure smooth implementation.
* Trouble shooting of the system
* Report on project impact
Skills and Experience:
* IT/Computing undergraduate or graduate
* Strong web application development skills.
* Knowledge of ASP.NET, PHP, JAVA, Python, or other web application development technologies.
* Knowledge of web application frameworks such as Angular, Node.js, Django etc.
* Strong communication skills, being able to work as part of a team and also as an individual.
* Energy and enthusiasm, determination to succeed
* Good organisational skill and focused, problem-solving ability.
* To understand the company vision, it’s sustainability and environmental objectives and the culture of customer service.
* To be prepared to fully participate in the commitment of the company to achieving the goals of the project.
