DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote
Salary: £56k
Overview
● Work with infrastructure and software engineers to architect and provision infrastructure and software solutions to on-prem and cloud systems.
● Ensure customer security requirements are met, and infrastructure deployment is automated / repeatable
● Design and implement automation to improve the security, performance, scalability, and availability of software stack. Ensure that infrastructure as code principle is widely implemented.
● Implement robust software development life cycle methodologies and improve existing CI/CD pipelines
● Awareness of ISO27001 and promote the importance of secure management of processes, customer data and intellectual property; work with information security colleagues and external consultants to mitigate security and operational risks.
● Maintain and improve our on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure, including networks, Linux servers, storage clusters and hypervisors
● Migrate on-prem infrastructure and software solutions onto cloud-based environments
Skills and Experience
● GNU/Linux, shell scripting and version control systems, ideally git.
● Languages: Java, Python, Go, Groovy.
● Configuration management systems such as Ansible, etc.
● Provisioning tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.
● SQL and NoSQL databases.
● Ceph and cloud based storage solutions
● OSPF, BGP
● Cloud, virtualisation and/or containerisation solutions such as Kubernetes.
● Experience with release, incident and change management mechanisms
● Experience with designing and deploying on prem / cloud infrastructure
● Experience managing Linux servers
● Highly adaptable to shifting priorities
● A collaborative working style and a motivated team player
