Job title: Network Software Engineer
Reporting to: Head of IT Development

Overall Purpose
Software development related to our client's systems strategy and roadmap covering network automation over the following areas:
Automated Provisioning
Developing on a Python based platform that enables our client to activate end-to-end customer services with no intervention from operational teams. The platform is integrated with Salesforce APIs to pass requests and outcomes to the network, configuring, de-configuring and updating routers in the network. Cloud Service providers are a key part of the existing integration with several already having been automated through the platform - Azure, AWS, Google, and soon more. Open Source automation tools are a key part of the architecture and you will be responsible overall for the extension of functionalities and overall design of the software.
Inventory Reconciliation
Synchronising Salesforce with live network inventory (including circuits and services) on an ongoing basis in order to improve data integrity, maintenance contracts accuracy, NOC/Customer Care, and Stock/Capex management. This includes automating data acquisition from NIM as well as from live network elements across all network platforms, creating discrepancy reports, and updating NIM with reconciled data.
Main Responsibilities
Network automation software development, including all related documentation (code comments, repositories, version control)
Liaising with the Salesforce development team in order to develop appropriate interfaces between SFDC and live network platforms
SME for Python programming
Assisting in evaluating 3rd party network automation tools, including interfaces between those tools and existing systems
Ensure following of the ISMS Secure development practices Qualifications/Experience
BSc/MSc in Computer Science - optional
Python - advanced level
Regular Expressions - advanced level
Scripting (bash, tcl, expect) - advanced level
SOAP, REST API development - intermediate level
Networking knowledge - intermediate level
Database knowledge - intermediate level
Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt) desirable
