Commercial Manager

Salt is proud to be exclusively partnered with one of the largest telecom's in the industry who are hiring Commercial Managers to join various dynamic teams. The Commercial Manager will drive the commercial performance, segmentation & stakeholder management agendas for their Squad, delivering activity to end customers in an iterative manner. You will be key contributors in building personalised Broadband, Mobile, TV, Sport & future product customer journeys, experiences and marketing campaigns that help us to extend and deepen our existing customer relationships with our clients bases.

This role will see you work alongside squad leaders (product owners) in preparing and delivering quarterly plans & forecasts linked to their squad's objectives. Critically, you will ensure that the squad keep a household value angle to their activity driving & evidencing commercial value outcomes to the business with a "test and learn" mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of squad's commercial performance. Facilitating & driving the squad's performance vs forecast & including clear "so what" next steps + plans to drive incremental value
  • Ownership of quarterly forecasting and in quarter outlooks
  • Define segment targeting, offer strategies & vision for relevant customer journeys
  • Work with key stakeholders across the squad to identify areas of performance optimisation (campaigns, analytics, data science, assisted voice/digital channels)
  • Drive base trials ensuring iterative test and learn v control cells
  • Development of business cases, using insight and modelling to build scenarios
  • Support the creation of end-to-end base journeys across marketing comms & within inbound interactions (contact centre/retail).
  • Support the refining and prioritising of product backlogs taking inputs from Digital & Trading teams where necessary
  • Appraise future commercial strategy and long-term planning aligned to wider business planning cycles

Skills it is expected to have:

  • Demonstrable experience in commercial/marketing - a commercial thinker
  • Robust use of insight to understand macro commercial and customer challenges, and how it impacts the approach of their squad
  • Solution focused, always able to break through complex issues
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing. Within the squad, but also with external stakeholders (trading, digital, proposition and customer services teams)
  • Proven track record of being a self-starter in previous roles and able to take on and develop new skills
  • An understanding of how to build & executing marketing campaigns is preferable
  • Ideally experience in working in agile operating models and working within squads with varying skills sets (campaign managers through to data engineers)
