Your new company
This specialist software business offer a powerful and ever-evolving ERP product to customers which has established them as leaders in the field. They've thrived through Covid and following a company acquisition are now looking to further expand with 8 hires across the team ranging from Developer, Senior Developer, Developer Team Lead.
This role is offered UK remote, or with time in their Poole, Dorset offices - the choice is yours.
Your new role
With 20 across Dev/QA already it's a collaborative friendly environment and a real variety in the languages, tools and project opportunities on offer.
You'll be responsible for modernising their core system which currently supports companies internationally and has thousands of users. It's functional, but it's time for change. 80% of your role will therefore be rebuilding the system entirely greenfield.
Culture is just as important as technology on the company's agenda, there's deadlines and serious outputs but the team have fun with it and socialise outside of work often.
What you'll need to succeed
Their Legacy core system uses an older API written in .NET Framework 4.6.1, ISAM flat files which are synced into MySQL for the C# APIs to use. Approximately 20% of the role will involve maintaining the Legacy system, or interacting with it in some regard - for example analysing how the core system works in order to design a next-gen replacement component or wholly new product.
It's hard to put a % split on Back End Vs. Front End as it varies between projects and tasks, however suitable candidates ideally need a good blend of the two disciplines.
