Robson Bale are looking for a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer to come on board for an initial 6 month contract in either Krakow or Warsaw

Main Purpose of the Job
In this role you will be joining a team of technical professionals supporting a large-scale z/OS systems platform. This position requires an experienced systems programmer with at least 3 years of experience supporting the z/OS Mainframe Network environment. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining the integrity and data/IP security of the Mainframe's host communication subsystems and associated program products.
Responsibilities
As a Mainframe Network Specialist, you'll need to:
- Perform TCPIP Port Reserves (Additions, Deletions, Changes) Perform VTAM updates (Additions, Deletions, Changes)
- Manage OSA Adapters in a complex Mainframe environment
- Perform VTAM PU/LU updates (Additions, Deletions, Changes) including Enterprise Extenders (EE)
- Install Network Product (Connect Direct, ASG OUTBOUND) and support FTP, SFTP and FTP/TLS
- Implement AT-TLS rules (digital certificate management). Configure and manage IPSEC policies (permit/deny rules, VPN- ipsec tunnels)
- Trace, Debug and Error Analysis
- Support Client Disaster Recovery Exercises
- Problem and Change Management Service Request Management
- Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure Network connectivity and security
Skillset
- Must have extensive experience of Mainframe Network (VTAM) systems programming. This is essential to the role
- Must have knowledge of all the following z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have excellent problem determination skills and be a true team player.
- You will be required to provide off hours support for the implementation of software changes and support for other projects requiring software expertise as well as be part of an on-call rota
- Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
- Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
- Have some experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
- A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own and others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
- Assembler, Automation, GDPS, Rexx and CLIST skills
