Lead Platform Engineer

A successful financial services start up, which is part of a leading retail bank group, are looking to hire a Lead Platform Engineer. As a Lead Platform Engineer you will be making sure their platforms are robust, value for money and continuously optimised whilst leading the team of engineers.

Some key responsibilities are;

• Make sure platforms and operational issues, defects, maintenance activities are prioritised appropriately and provide highly available and performing solutions
• Manage the technical team's talent and performance
• Own, develop and improve platform engineering tools, processes and ways of working
• Pioneer new ideas to improve platform delivery life cycles from design, code, automation to effective operational support

Therefore, they are after someone who has the following skills/experience;

• Extensive hands-on experience in design, build and deployment of Microsoft tech stack, particularly PaaS resources and AKS implementations
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Tools and Techs including Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Device Management/End Point Manager, cloud best practices across platform and security
• Experience of managing a technical team including management of talent and performance
• To be an advocate for containerisation and cloud native solutions
• Extensive hands-on experience of Real Time logging and monitoring eg NewRelic, Log Analytics, AppInsight
• Hands on experience of Azure, design, build and deployment using CI and CD.
