Operations Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

My client has an amazing opportunity for a talented and passionate Operations Engineer to join their operations team to work on strategic products and participate in the support, deployment, and maintenance of all their key products. You must have an excellent understanding of computer systems and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. You must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. You will have the ability to operate in extreme high-pressure situations, successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. You must possess superior technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations.

Key Skills and Experience required

* Experience of Microsoft SQL database management systems
* Excellent customer service and proactive support ethos
* 3 years' experience - third line application support
* Excellent customer service and proactive support ethos
* Experience of web server technologies such as IIS
* Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems
* Experience deploying solutions to managed services

Desirable skills:

* Experience with Microsoft clustering, SQL & System Centre Management
* Experience of patch management deployments/Windows software Update Services
* Experience with SAN/Clustering & High Availability Systems
* Network and Communication troubleshooting
* Network Access/Distribution & Core switching design & implementation
* Firewall and VPN technologies
* Exposure to domain management and solution design
* Experience with Azure
