Senior R Programmer - 3 Month Contract

My client a top insurance company are looking for a Senior R Programmer to join their team on a contract basis working from home. Please note this role will be paid via an umbrella company.

As a Senior R Programmer you will be responsible for the following;

• Develop an Experience Studies (ES) Engine in R using the provided tools (RStudio, Azure DevOps, etc) and technology stack
• Specify & evolve the software design of the ES Engine to deliver the ES Methodology specification
• Provide technical guidance, help & leadership to other R developers within the squad
• Follow the Agile methodology within the constraints specified by this development
• Shape and define processes relating to the development, testing & technical documentation of the ES Engine in R
• Support the project in promoting the Experience Studies in R in various forums

The key experience & knowledge required:

• Advance R programming skill (at least 5 year experience) especially with packages like tidyverse, dplyr, data.table, dtplyr, Rcpp and shiny
• R package development and testing experience are a plus
• Experience with CD/CI using Azure DevOps
• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and hands-on experience with Apache Spark are a plus
• Agile working experience a plus
• Enjoy working with and preparing data from different sources
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate with others to find practical solutions
• Strong co-ordination and communication skills
• Desire to learn and improve continually
