Roc Search are currently recruiting for a Lead Developer to join one of the UK largest family run retail businesses located in York. Due to continuing business growth at this company, they are expanding their IT Software Development department and are looking for a Software Development Team Leader, to lead their development team in York. They offer flexible start and end times to the working day and hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Developer/Head of:

• Lead a medium sized team of six developers

• Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties

• Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code

• Team player with experience collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions

• Take technical lead responsibilities for projects and work streams

• Ensure software and solution deliverables are produced to the highest standard, consistent, 'fit for purpose' and meeting the expectation of the customer/business

• Be highly supportive to users where engagement is required

• Assist in the provision of third level support to business user

• Coach & guide your team with a continuous learning environment mentality

Requirements to be our Lead Developer/Head Of:

• Around 5 years software development experience

• Detailed understanding of Javascript frameworks, eg React.js, Node.js

• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL (SQL Server/MySQL)

• HTML/CSS

• Appreciation of .NET (VB or C#) and ASP.NET

• Web Services (REST/XML/JSON)

• Exposure to Cloud based solutions (Azure, AWS, Google)

• Cloud Computing/DevOps

• Android (Java)

• Hold valid Right to Work status for the UK (no sponsorship)

• Excellent communicator (written & verbal)

• Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude

• Strong conceptual and analytical skills demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills
