InfluxDB Engineer

Role Summary

We have an exciting new, predominantly remote, contract opportunity with a key Energy provider, as an InfluxDB Engineer.

The role will be an initial 6-month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to support the design, development and rollout of an InfluxDB solution to support their future business requirements, heavily focused on data capture, integration and future analysis to drive operational improvements and business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• To technically lead the delivery of the InfluxDB solution to our client.
• To provide support and consultancy advise to the client in terms of technical best practice.
• Identification of innovative solutions in Industry 4.0 environments for our client
• Collaborating with client to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into solution requirements
• Technically planning and managing the implementation of the InfluxDB solution
• Overseeing all stages of solution creation including design and development
• Developing user stories - to support all development and integration requirements
• Monitoring and evaluating solution progress at each stage of the process
• Supporting and mentoring the development team
• Regular communication with internal partners and customers
• Strong experience in delivery projects in Agile or Waterfall
• Creating and confidently delivering technical presentations internally and externally
• Able to understand business drivers and risks involved to the client
• Promote technical solutions to the customer with professionalism and enthusiasm

Key Capabilities:

• Excellent understanding and proven experience in the design and implementation of InfluxDB solutions.
• Good understanding of industrial technologies from Automation, Communications & Networking, Data collection, storage, and analysis to IoT and Cloud.
• Skilled in technical problem solving within the operational technology environments
• Able to solve technical problems in the areas of data collection, management, governance, and integration
• Proficient in Operational Systems Data
• Proficient in OT/IT convergence assessment and design
• Able to support OT development and delivery (agile and waterfall)

Key Technologies:

• Excellent understanding and proven experience in the design and implementation of InfluxDB solutions.
• Solid understand and experience in using key technologies to help define, manage, and deliver the programme workflow; Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
• Demonstrable experience of Industry 4.0 technology stack

Candidate Profile:

• Successfully completed technical degree (bachelor, Master, Diploma, eg, Systems Engineer or a comparable qualification with relevant experience in Industrial IT/Industry 4.-/IoT
• Experience in Agile and Waterfall working methods
• Strong experience in Industry 4.0 solutions within industrial environments
• Communication and team skills
• Structured and analytical way of working
• Confident appearance in an international environment
• Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise work accordingly
• Full drivers' licence and willingness to travel
