IT Monitoring Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Monitoring Engineer you will be implementing the strategy for our monitoring technology, working with the wider infrastructure and development teams to ensure our critical infrastructure and applications are monitored and alerted. You will work with project teams to support the design and delivery of monitoring requirements for new services, whilst supporting and developing the core monitoring platforms.

We are looking for and individual who will champion a culture of best practice in monitoring across the group. Working collaboratively with operations and development teams to automate resolution and reduce false alerts.

This role is available on a hybrid basis, with 2 days a week in our Shirebrook HQ

QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding and experience of different monitoring technologies
• Managing Pagerduty, including orchestrations and integrations
• Integrating operating systems into ITSM platforms
• Automating manual process and driving efficiencies
• Data analysis skills, facilitating root cause analysis and problem management
• Scripting skills eg PowerShell

Desirable Skills:

• Logicmonitor, Solarwinds, Honeycomb, Sentinel and PRTG.
• Agile ways of working
• ITIL framework.
• Cloud environments (Azure), infrastructure automation tools and security
• Working in DevOps teams
