iO Associates have partnered with a growing medical device company based in the Cotswolds in the search for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join the team.
The business is medium in size meaning, each individual makes a real impact on the success of the company. They are very forward thinking and embrace the modern ways of working such as flexi time and hybrid working where possible. You will also have exposure to more sides of the business and be able make changes and improvements fast, which in this line of work is what it's all about.
As the Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be responsible for the implementation of Continuous Improvement processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction and operational designs to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs.
You will be focusing on operational excellence assessments and bench-marking teams against best practice as well as supporting cultural learning, change and promoting CI tools and techniques as well as CI mentoring and support.
Working closely with the Manufacturing Manager you will be apply lean tools across whole facility to ensure processes are efficient. This will involve liaising with customers. analysing the factory layout, hosting Kaizen Events, implementing tools such as process capability and 5S and leading various CI projects and initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Degree and/or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
- Six sigma green belt qualification would be desirable
- Establishing metrics/KPIs to drive production/manufacturing improvement
- Worked in international quality standards, preferably medical devices ISO13485
- Demonstrable knowledge of implementing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems planning
- Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred
In return you will receive a salary between £39,000-£44,000 along with benefits that include:
