SC Cleared Network Engineer

Description:

An active held Security Cleared Network Engineer is required by our Global Telecoms customer. The Network Engineer will require in depth knowledge of CCNA; Routing; Switching and the surrounding network that controls them.

This includes troubleshooting, fault resolution and managing risks. It will also assist with our clients Security with onsite issues

Network troubleshooting using OSI model - server connections, F5 load balancers, hardware issues, software bugs

Understanding of - Cisco CLI, Bash, OSI/TCP models, TCP/UDP, VLANs/SVIs, IP Addressing, subnets, MAC address tables, ARP table, risks to service when undertaking or deciding to undertake work, network diagrams, access-control lists, routing and switching, speed and duplex, cable/SFP types, Cisco syslog analysing, Firewalls (what they do), Windows server, SolarWinds, NTP, DHCP, F5 load balancers, SCP/FTP/TFTP

Configuration of network devices including Cisco Switches and Routers - IP Addressing, VLANs/SVIs, Access-control lists, SNMP, TACACS, spanning-tree, SSH keys, NTP

Networking monitoring using SolarWinds tool including pro-active fault finding and utilisation monitoring

Change Raising

Liaison with Fuijistu when physical/hardware work is required

Software upgrades - Cisco Switches and Routers, F5 Load balancers.

Incident management

Raising FE for DC hardware issues

Darktrace hardware support

Raising TAC cases with relevant vendors

Failover testing/understanding of disaster recovery plans

Assist Internal engineers whenever required for patching, office moves and installations

Planning DC visits for both BAU and project work

Must hold active SC Clearance or within the past year
