Senior Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

Working in a commercially mature environment for a professional services company based in the Manchester area, we are looking for candidate's who can apply their experience and knowledge to empower people through their technology. Using that experience and your intuition to interpret and recommend new policies, resolving complex issues; and proactively anticipate problems to deliver solutions which enhance the quality and efficiency of services.

Skills and Experience:

• Degree in relevant profession, or equivalent experience/skills. Licences/Certificates/Qualifications required for the role (eg ITIL, JNCIA or equivalent)
• Experience with Firewall support (eg Firepower, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto)
• Previous experience of working with networking routing protocols (eg BGP, VRF, EIGRP, OSPF)
• Knowledge of Cisco Meraki would be advantageous
• Experience of working within an ITIL environment (utilising Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management processes)
• Basic knowledge of VMware networking is desirable

Role and Responsibilities:

• Working with minimal supervision your primary responsibility is to ensure that the organisations networking associated infrastructure estate is available, has sufficient capacity, is compliant, secure and up to date.
• Working with service managers, stakeholders technicians to keep network and communication solutions (Hardware and software) up to date with their associated roadmap.
• Supporting an enterprise class network solutions
• Provide specialist consultancy to 3rd party organisations as the subject matter expert in Networks and Communications
