Carbon Offsets Portfolio Manager

Our client is a climate infrastructure platform making it easy for businesses of all sizes to integrate carbon measurement & carbon offsetting tools into their customer's experiences. The initial focus is set on high-emitting use cases, such as transportation and logistics aiding business on their journey to Net Zero.
Based in Central London, operating in a Hybrid working environment, you will be spearheading our client's climate efforts, leading relationships with supply-side partners, including but not limited to frontier carbon removal technologies, project developers, and in setting solutions. Engaging with key industry stakeholders and aligning our client as a leader in sustainability. Our client works with B2B customers in a variety of industries including e-commerce, logistics and financial services, to name a few.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engage with key stakeholders, policy makers, industry associations, and customers to advise on best-in class sustainability practices to measure, reduce and offset GHG emissions and become a trusted industry standard;
- Utilising your climate expertise in collaboration with the company's team in supporting product development across carbon accounting, reporting and offsetting;
- Assess, select and onboard new project developers, frontier removal technologies and in setting solutions to our client's marketplace;
- Identify obstacles developers face, devising processes to aid collaboration and the efficiency of their work;
- Combine a deep understanding of the voluntary carbon market, including technological and natural carbon removals, to aid stakeholders on their path to net zero;
- Obtain and manage the key industry certifications for our client
Requirements:
- 5 to 8 years of experience within the sustainability space with a focus on climate
- Educational background with Environmental Sciences or equivalent;
- Experience in creating and implementing sustainability programs leading carbon offsetting procurement end-to-end, including interacting with registries (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard);
- Experience or familiarity with key regulatory reporting requirements and standards (GHG protocol, GRI, TCFD, CDP, or SASB) as well as offsetting industry stakeholders (ICROA, ICVCM, IETA,);
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally high growth start-up experience;
