2nd Line Support Technician/Engineer

Technical Support Specialist required to support clients in their day-to-day computer and IT operations.

Initially spending 3 days a week working on site at a major client (60+ PCs + 9 Servers), attending other clients and working in the company's office.

Primarily responsible for Customer IT Level1/Level2 support. The position requires someone with at least 5 years' experience in IT, with good knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Servers.

Ideally with experience of both Windows 7/8/10/11 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 operating systems. To work in these environments requires some understanding of server components, such as Active Directory, DHCP, DFS and DNS. An understanding of network basics, with the ability to troubleshoot with simple network tools such as ping and nslookup is important. A knowledge and understanding of Ethernet networks, Switches, Firewalls, Routers and WiFi is essential.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office products is important, in particular Microsoft Outlook working with Exchange online Servers. It will be necessary to use an Office 365 portal to manage and maintain Office licensing and Exchange mailboxes.

The position requires someone with the ability and discipline to work on their own when required, comfortable with using Project/Task management tools. A logical and organized approach to troubleshooting is essential, with the ability to focus when under pressure. The successful candidate will be given initial training to familiarise themselves with Customers' Infrastructure, and will have access to level 3 support at all times.

Arcserve Backup - with standalone LTO Tape drives and Multi-loader Tape Libraries

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Managed with Nebula management tool

McAfee Endpoint protection - Managed with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator

Swann CCTV system - 2 Video Recorders with 20 cameras at major customer

Cisco Firewalls and WiFi Access Points

Various Networked Multi-function Printers

UPS - Uninterruptable Power Supplies

Sage 200 Accounts

Microsoft Azure and Office 365 technologies

RAID technologies - Hot Swop of failed/failing disks on RAID 5, RAID 0 and RAID 10 server configurations
