Systems Engineer - Manufacturing

Based in Accrington - Capacity for Hybrid working after Probation

Up to £40,000

The Systems Engineer (Manufacuring) is a permanent staff position following a six-month probation period and you will report directly to the Information Technology Manager. The role involves working throughout the business to support, enhance, and grow the use of our Syspro ERP system, Orchard Warehouse Management System, Equator Shopfloor Data Capture system and other manufacturing IT systems, to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree/HND in Manufacturing/Production/Process Systems related qualification.
  • Strong IT skills with hands on technical ability.
  • Enjoy working with both IT systems, manufacturing processes and people.
  • An understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning system principles.
  • Structured, logical, and methodical approach to work with close attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive with an ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • An appreciation of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Able to communicate at all levels with good spoken and written English.
  • Being able to work effectively under pressure and take on new challenges.
  • Have determination to resolve problems and a good sense of responsibility.
  • Be able to motivate and encourage others.

Beneficial requirements: -

  • Experience of working in a modern manufacturing environment.
  • Used a modern ERP system (Such as Syspro ERP) in areas such as Sales Order Entry, Purchase Order Entry, Production Job creation, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM)
  • Possess SQL data querying skills.
  • Interest and understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies
  • Experience or understanding of supporting Electronic Data Interchange. (EDI)
  • AGILE methodologies knowledge.
  • Project management skills or experience.
The role will involve: -
  • Identifying and presenting proposals to increase productivity and reduce costs across the business.
  • Supporting and promoting the use of the ERP system within all areas of the business.
  • Collaborating closely with our employees, support partners and third-party consultants to investigate and evaluate problems and implement system solutions.
  • Creating and managing, clear and concise quick reference user guides.
  • Training of employees in system use.
  • Monitoring system usage.
  • Supporting positive change management.
