American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in the payments solutions space for large and small businesses. The European GCP Product Management team is responsible for setting and executing the product line strategy for this exciting and fast growing segment across Europe.

Business Customers (SME's) are an integral part of the aggressive growth strategy for AXP within Europe, and offering differentiated products and services is critical to our success. This team promises to drive significant growth and value through the delivery of innovative products, tailored to the unique needs of Businesses.

As the regional SME Product team, we support EMEA markets to optimize their Business card portfolios including new product development and product reengineering. This role offers individuals the opportunity to expand their skills in product and project management as well as liaising closely with our marketing, legal, operations and platform teams.

The Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the annual roadmap of prioritised initiatives that will ensure we overachieve against portfolio targets. Opportunity to manage individual project work streams E2E from planning (setting objectives) through delivery (product input and sign off) and post-analysis
  • Partnering with Product Development to understand platform capabilities to support customer experience solutions and drive the smooth execution of required changes
  • Working closely with Marketing and Field enablement to develop & execute our communication and engagement plans incl. defining customer needs and segmentation as well as reviewing communication proposals
  • Analytics/dashboards creation to support business decisions and identify business transformation opportunities
  • Guide servicing on client escalations that they cannot resolve and support Sales/ AD to overcome client objections, incl direct client interaction
  • Build Relationships and partner internally to ensure buy-in, alignment and optimal delivery (Marketing, Product Operations, Sales/Account Development, Card Servicing, and other teams that we interact)

Required skills:

  • Previous experience in projects end to end; card issuing product management experience is a nice to have
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo to drive alternate solutions and testing new ideas to meet customer needs
  • Able to articulate and communicate ideas to internal and external audiences
  • Proven relationship building skills as demonstrated by an ability to align and influence various stakeholders and develop rapport
  • Self-starter with excellent prioritisation skills; enjoys working in a fast paced environment; proven adaptability and ability to creatively problem solve
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter working with a sense of urgency
  • Attention to details is a must, as is good organisation
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to manage and work across multiple markets
  • University degree a benefit
