Familiarity with U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS programs. Ability to ski/snowboard at an intermediate/advanced level. Proven experience managing budgets in-excess of $50,000. Minimum education of a Bachelor's Degree. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Computer competency including internet, spreadsheets, word processing and presentations. Ability to travel up to six individual weeks a season. Ability to multitask. Ability to supervise and/or coordinate staff, vendors, and/or volunteers in a fast pace environment. Ability to plan, organize and use independent judgment. Employee will be required to attend specific U.S. Ski & Snowboard events and work outdoors in variable/extreme weather conditions. About the Events Department
The Events Department at U.S. Ski and Snowboard is responsible for all public facing elite level athletic competitions in the United States in Skiing and Snowboarding. The events department ensures safe and competitive athletic platforms while providing a stage to showcase our partners and resorts. The Events Department manages the relationships with resorts all over the country to continue the success of home field advantage for Olympic and World Championship skiers and riders. Position Summary
The Event Coordinator will work with the Freestyle and Alpine Events Manager to coordinate the planning and implementation of all aspects of Alpine and Freestyle Events. The position oversees, but is not limited to, the following:
Oversee the planning of all on-site marketing/promotional partner programs relating to sponsor fulfillment. Ensure that the event's promotion and marketing materials and activities are delivered according to FIS and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Rules and guidelines. Assist host organizing committees in the development and management of venue entertainment schedules, scripts, talent and awards. Coordinate athlete appearances with host Organizing Committees and sponsors. Manage delivery of appearances with respective Team Managers. Coordinate US Team Victory Celebrations on an as needed basis. Coordinate the development and management of non-competition event venues supporting the competition venues including media work and press conference areas and team captains' meetings. Oversee the development and implementation of competition medical and doping control plans including facilities personnel and training. Oversee the development of event marketing plans with respective host Organizing Committees, including the design review and approval of all event related digital, print, radio marketing. collateral. Oversee the development and production of all event related materials as needed. Bibs, Credentials, Tickets, signage, etc. Design overall integrated schedules for all alpine and freestyle events with internal U.S. Ski & Snowboard departments. Work with Event Administrative coordinator on website updates. Duties Freestyle Championships:
Oversee the implementation of contractual rights and responsibilities with the site. Work under the direction of the Freestyle and Alpine Event Manager to develop and implement an event plan with the respective local organizing committees. Develop comprehensive management of FS Nationals including: planning, budgeting, personnel management, venue development, competition management, event services, hospitality, entertainment, broadcast and media service, etc. Produce Bib and Panel design.
