The role of the Speedwatch Support Volunteer is to maintain the Thames Valley Police Speedwatch Database for a locally defined Neighbourhood by checking the information recorded on the Speedwatch Data Sheets provided by local roadside Community Speedwatch volunteers against the Police National Computer, maintaining the accuracy of the Speedwatch Computer Database in line with TVP policies and Data Protection legislation, and sending out warning letters to the registered keepers of the vehicles as recorded on the Data Sheets.

All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
