Role: Data Engineer

Location: Fully Remote

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum + Bonus and Bens

The Data Engineer plays a lead role in implementing and optimizing data flows to ensure Business Intelligence & Analytics solutions are scalable and available across EMEA functions.

Key Responsibilities as a Data Engineer:

  • Analyze new data requirements for Business Intelligence & Analytics projects and execute to deliver the data strategy
  • Design and develop the data infrastructure to support business growth in the EMEA region
  • Lead IT Feasibility Studies. Understand the project's "end goal" and scope the data and technical requirements.
  • Lead projects of varying complexity and achieve successful IT Projects Delivery
  • Set up project plan with tasks, milestones, timeline, dependencies and budget. Define resource requirements.
  • Build and maintain data infrastructure for the optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources
  • Ensure data accessibility at all times and implement company data policies with respect to data privacy and confidentiality
  • Cleaning and wrangling data from primary and secondary sources into formats that can be efficiently utilized by data analysts and other data consumers

Key Requirements Needed:

  • Proven experience working in an IT team
  • Experience with Database Systems and Data Warehousing
  • Data wrangling, ELT, Datamodelling, data mining and data analysis skills
  • SQL databases and skilled in writing queries to manipulate and retrieve data (eg from SAP BW, SAP HANA systems)
  • Power BI development capability desirable
  • Azure Data Lake advantageous
  • Programming languages such as Python
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of BI application support and troubleshooting
  • Competent in project management
  • Provides effective analytical solutions within deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Continuous improvement and results orientation; acts with a sense of urgency and delivers results on-time and on-budget
