Client Details

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman is an independent national service. They make fair and final decisions on complaints about the NHS in England, UK Government departments and some other public organisations. Description

  • Datamodelling. Understand the concepts and principles of Datamodelling and can produce, maintain, and update relevant data models for specific business needs. Can reverse-engineer data models from a live system. You understand industry-recognised Datamodelling patterns and standards
  • Data development process. Integrate and separate data feeds in order to map, produce, transform and test new data products
  • Programming and build. Design, write and iterate code from prototype to production-ready. Understand security, accessibility and version control. Use a range of coding tools and languages
  • Technical understanding. Know about the specific technologies that underpin your ability to deliver the responsibilities and tasks of the role. Apply the required breadth and depth of technical knowledge
  • Data integration design. Deliver data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable, and future proof
  • Testing. Plan, design, manage, execute and report tests, using appropriate tools and techniques, and work within regulations
  • Data analysis and synthesis. Translate data into valuable insights that inform decisions. Know how to involve teams in analytics and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions. Identify and use the most appropriate analytical techniques. Aware of and keep up to date with advances in digital analytics tools and data manipulation products. Collect, collate, cleanse, synthesise and interpret data to derive meaningful and actionable insights
  • Data innovation. Recognise and can exploit business opportunities to ensure efficient and effective performance of organisations
  • Metadata management Design and maintain the appropriate metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis

Profile

  • Experience working with the Microsoft technology stack including:
    MS SQL Server
    Visual Studio and SQL Server Integration Services
    Azure data services including AAS, ADF, ML and Cognitive Services
    Power BI
    Office 365, Teams & SharePoint
  • Data development process - designing, building, and testing data products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods by creating repeatable and reusable products
  • Data integration design - delivering data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable and future-proof
  • Data engineering - producing, maintaining, and updating relevant data models for specific business needs.
  • Kingswaysoft 3rd party data integration software
  • 3rd Party packages/libraries
  • Executing test plans and documenting test outcomes
  • Working with and maintaining metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis
  • Data analysis and synthesis
  • Translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understand how to tailor your means of communication to the audience
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to anticipate problems through data analysis and take action to prevent them.
  • You understand how problems fit into the larger picture and can identify and describe challenges and help others to describe them
  • The ability to focus on impact and deliver outstanding results in a team environment
  • Proven development skills utilising T-SQL, SQL server integration services, SQL server analysis services and Python all within the Visual Studio IDE
  • Programming and Scripting languages

Job Offer

  • Salary up to £52,000
  • Civil Service Pension scheme (minimum 26.6% employer contribution)
