Operations Manager - Intelligent Buildings

The appointed Operations Manager will manage multiple projects involving the installation, programming, commissioning and general servicing of a range of automatic control systems for HVAC, power metering, lighting, access control, video surveillance and fibre optic networks.

The Position:

Based from our client's West Yorkshire Head Office but involving nationwide travel, the successful candidate will work with a diverse client base ranging from B2B, residential, retail and other commercial customers through to public sector clients including healthcare, education and local/central government. The Operations Manager will ensure customer satisfaction through direct on-site management plus consistent email/phone communication and an effective implementation strategy executed with precise attention to detail. Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing the team to meet objectives and expectations, including recruitment, training and mentoring

* P&L responsibility for the commercial performance of contracts

* Contributing to budget planning and reviewing financial performance against budget

* Supporting the identification of new business opportunities

* Ensuring compliance with all company programmes, processes and procedures

* Ensuring that health & and Safety policies are clearly understood and implemented

* Identifying opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness

* Deploying a strategic account development plan and monitoring/reviewing its effectiveness against plan

* Designing and delivering integration architecture for BEMs, building services, life safety systems, location-based services, audio visual, air conditioning, access/security, lifts and IP-based services

* Developing the pipeline of works to achieve desired targets and required margins

* Project implementation, delivery, documentation, supply chain and handover management

* Direct liaison with client teams and internal stakeholders for project updates and delivery reporting

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

* A minimum of five years' project management experience in the BMS sector

* Proven leadership and man management abilities

* Technical expertise and qualifications in an engineering discipline

* Knowledge of key operational procedures such as project road maps, planned maintenance systems, quality and health & safety

* The ability to manage projects valuing in excess of £3 million

* Experience of managing Health & Safety compliance

* The ability to estimate project costs and present high quality tender documents to customers

* Good IT literacy (AutoCAD, Intellect, Microsoft Project & Excel)

* Competency with PDA and mobile telephone software and applications

* A basic understanding of wired and wireless and technologies such as EnOcean, Zigbee, BLE, Wifi, Sigfox and/or Lora

* A strong network or contacts and influence within corporate facilities management and building services
