Main Duties *To participate in the review, identification and definition of the assets and liabilities of the Council and to provide and develop a professional service to the Council in order to ensure a cost effective programme of Risk Management and Insurance. *To prepare and submit Motor, Property and some Liability claims to ensure settlement on the most beneficial terms. *To maintain schedules pertaining to areas of risk. *To arrange insurance cover when appropriate. *To respond to enquiries and to advise on matter concerning risk and insurance. *To maintain and monitor an efficient and effective filing system. *To assist in the development of computer systems. *To prepare reports on risk and insurance matters. Essential *Sound experience in claims handling, particularly, Motor, property and Public Liability claims *An understanding and experience of the Insurance Market. *An understanding and experience of the working of Local Government or other public services.
