Ground Maintenance Clerk

You will be heading up the track maintenance team and be responsible for the track and it's up keep.
The hours for this role will be on a shift basis and you need to be flexible to cover emergencies and bad weather days.
The duties of the Grounds Maintenance Clerk will include:
Preparing a running surface that is both safe and consistent
Working with sand, salt and water to maintain the track
Ensuring all track equipment is maintained and in safe working order, with any defects promptly reported to ensure no breakdown
Carrying out servicing schedules of hare equipment
Attending race and trial meetings as required by the company
Driving the hare mechanism at race and trial meetings in line with company procedures and rules
Managing a team of 6 track staff
Ensuring all health and safety requirements are met throughout each working day
The ideal Grounds Maintenance Clerk will have:
Previous experience of working in maintenance role outside
Basic knowledge of electrics and hydraulics would be an advantage but not essential
The ability to work in a physical role with lots of lifting
Knowledge of how to drive a tractor
Confidence and be a strong decision maker
Salary for this role is circa £26,000
Hours of work are Monday - Friday 8.00am till 4.00pm, Saturday 7.30am till 10.00pm split double shift and Sunday 11.30am - 6.15pm. This is a 40 hour week vacancy run on a rota basis.
