Description:

Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the reconciliation of the various balance sheet accounts, such as cash, fixed assets, and accounts receivables. The position will assist the Accounting Manager with month end close procedures, financial reporting and with special reporting on an as needed basis


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses

• Prepares various complex account analyses and reconciliations

• Assists with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepares closing journal entries, and posts accrual entries

• Assists in the preparation of the monthly financial statements

• Maintains corporate rent schedules, facilitates new rent set up and prepares monthly rent payments for processing

• Facilitates research and resolution of operational inquiries

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Full Cycle Accounting with experience in revenue recognition

Ability to establish a high level of trust and credibility in the organization.

• Proactive and resourceful. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization. Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Ability to understand the independent contractor relationship.

• Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills.

• This position requires 5% amount of travel. Travel may include travel by car, airplane or public transit methods. Travel may be outside the local area and/or overnight


Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required.

• 3-5 years of previous accounting related experience preferred.

• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.


Computer Skills:

• Proficient computer skills MS Word, Excel, Outlook and database software; must be able to toggle between multiple screens.

• Prior experience with Great Plains and Concur preferred.
