JavaScript Developer required for our client in the gaming sector

Are you interested in game development?

Our client looking to bring innovative and disruptive products and technologies to the gaming sector and have built multiple games and products over the last six years.

They have a clear agenda of a games delivery target and you will be rewarded for helping reach performance targets with a healthy bonus scheme.

  • You will join a team of two other Front End developers.
  • Must be able to work independently on a project and can contribute game ideas to the team.
  • Comfortable with JavaScript coding language
  • At least 2 - 3 years' work experience (or a recent graduate with a Computer Science Degree and has worked on Games)
  • Keen interest in Front End Development
  • Remote working, although if within a 1-hour commute radius of the office, 1 day in the office per week

Key skills

JavaScript (ES6), CSS (SCSS), HTML, Canvas/PIXI/3rd party JS libraries, OOP

Additional technical skills that are advantageous to have:

  • Npm/Webpack/Grunt
  • TypeScript
  • Developing applications for mobile/tablet/desktop
  • Design Patterns
  • Advanced Debugging
  • Spine
  • Photoshop
  • React
  • Experience in the online gaming industry would be beneficial but not a necessity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a number of game titles and other genres of games
  • Work with our partner technologies provider to suggest upgrades and changes to the existing frameworks and technology solutions
  • Ensure our games pass through the quality control checks and provide speedy turnaround of identified issues and bugs
  • Review game designs and ensure all User Journey stages have been thoroughly thought through and all assets have been uploaded in the correct format
  • Join game brainstorming sessions and provide ideas on new game concepts and critique on games in the design and development pipeline
  • Implement sufficient automated testing within your code to ensure our games pass the various acceptance testing cycles
  • Conduct peer code reviews and form a collaborative relationship with your fellow workmates
