Working for a national Association, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our in-house Congress team based near Gloucester. The BSAVA run numerous education courses, host the largest small animal Congress in Europe, publish books, manuals, apps and magazines designed to support the professional development of veterinary surgeons and nurses.

Position: Event Manager
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire (Commutable from Worcester, Cheltenham, Bristol and surrounding areas)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 per annum depending on qualification and experience
Benefits: Contributions towards Group Personal Pension, Life Assurance and Health Insurance, 23 days holiday.

About the role:

The Events Manager is responsible for organising and overseeing the successful operational delivery of BSAVA events (primarily Congress & Scottish Congress) and day to day management of the Congress team. This role is an excellent opportunity to be part of the BSAVA's future with a move to the new venue in Manchester 2021.

About you:

We are looking for an individual with at least 5 years' experience of working within event management including demonstrated evidence of successfully line managing a team. A strong background in audio / visual, or technical production, and good understanding of live productions trends and consumer expectations is essential.

The candidate will be a good communicator providing clear, concise written and verbal communications appropriate to the audience with the ability to remain highly organised whilst working on many projects at once.

They will also be highly organised, results driven, strive to make a difference, enjoy a challenge and possess great attention to detail. They will need to work proactively as part of the team building consensus with internal departments. This is an active role and the candidate must be flexible and be able to work in a pressured environment to achieve their objectives. This role includes travel both within and outside of the UK.
