We need you to develop long-lasting partnerships with our Charity retailers, High Street Book Retailers, Publishers, Libraries, Educational establishments, and book bank sites, for World of Books, the UK's largest seller of used books online; selling to over 190 countries through their own website, other marketplaces (e.g. Amazon and eBay) and wholesale partners.
World of Books processes over 250,000 books a day bought from UK charities in return for direct payment and saving the charities waste disposal costs. This has generated over £12m for UK charities in the last 5 years!
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for maximising the supply of used books in the Midlands and Northern territory, building trusted relationships, and developing strategic partnerships and new initiatives to secure supply channels to meet future growth targets. Applicants located in the Midlands area (Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester) are ideal for this predominantly field based role.
World of Books is a circular economy, for profit company that supports charities and protects the planet by enabling more goods to be reused. They are pioneers in the re-use and recycling of unwanted books, recycling around 70 million books each year, equivalent to saving 442,000 trees.
•Actively maintain strategic and tactical relationships with existing charity partners.
•Proactively identify and target new charity partners to increase the number of shops serviced.
•Secure long-term, signed agreements with all existing and new charity partners.
•Manage acquisition and on-boarding of new customers to ensure a seamless handover to the Logistics and Charity Liaison team.
•Add value - offer other Group services such as Charity Scanning, Ziffit Giving and Shopiago to further develop relationships.
•Identify further opportunities and potential partnerships to develop and grow the supply of used books, such as publishers, educational establishments, book bank sites and recycling merchants to ensure continuity of supply and cost-effective stock acquisition.
Skills & Experience:
•Strong account management skills and the ability to develop productive and sustainable long-term relationships with suppliers and partners.
•Excellent presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to convey sometimes complex information and data insights to all levels of internal staff and customers to understand.
•A self-starter with high energy, willing to 'roll their sleeves up' to ensure this newly formed department is a success.

•Flexible, both in terms of hours worked and frequent travel to UK sites and customers.
