Senior Planner - Social Housing - New Build

We are recruiting for a Senior Planner to be based in Ashford. This is a permanent full time role working Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview:

* To Provide full support to the Planning Manager in a managerial capacity to other members of the Planning Department
* To support the Planning Manager in mentoring and training other members of the Planning Department
* Analyse tender documentation and providing accurate programmes and logistics in conjunction with the Pre-construction Manager and Divisional Director
* To produce, manage and audit accurate programmes and logistics for tender bids
* To produce, manage and audit accurate programmes for live operational projects
* Successfully manage workload as directed by the Planning Manager.
* Ensure all operational programmes for projects are fully in accordance with New Build planning guidance and procedures
* Support, maintain and develop planning guidance and procedures to ensure continuous improvement
* Organise, complete and communicate the status of operational programme audits
* Organise, complete and communicate the status of pre-construction programme audits
* To carry out staff appraisals as required
* To ensure discipline and professional standards are maintained
* To encourage and engender the professional development of all staff to whom you are responsible for
* To provide early warning / notification of any company wide issues that may occur by notification to the Planning Manager.
* Ensure that any responsible staff are cognisant of associated risks applicable in carrying out their roles and that proper measures are adopted to manage, control and minimise any risks which may apply to their daily duties
* Any other reasonable management requests.


Required Qualifications or Experience:

* In depth experience and high level knowledge of planning and programming
* Experience of working on Social Housing / Education projects
* Detailed understanding of construction technology and methods
* Working experience of presenting technical and complex information
* Excellent skills with MS Project and Asta Powerproject

Required Skills:

* Ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
* First rate communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent attention to detail
