Membership Development Officer
Reference number: A
Location: Bristol

Salary starting at £17,276 - £18,716 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

There is an exciting opportunity to work for this charity in and around Bristol as a Membership Development Officer to increase people's connection to the natural world through charitable membership. If nature is to survive more people need to be encouraged to spend time in nature and to help fund vital wildlife conservation efforts to help give nature a home.

Nature is in big trouble but this charity has big plans to save it. Can you help them?

Our client is a leading nature conservation charity and is now focusing on some ambitious plans and targets - working together with the public and its partners to collectively change the fate of nature. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the organisation, and will enthuse and inspire members of the public to join the charity by telling them about the conservation work that they are doing and using excellent fundraising/sales skills in public places and at busy events to promote membership. Increased Membership is the key to the future success of this charity.

The successful candidate will become part of the South West membership team. This role will involve working across a wide variety of public venues and events such as farmers' markets, country shows, garden centres, parks and community centres and enthusing, inspiring and recruiting new members. Working alongside other staff and volunteers at nature reserves in the wider South West region (such as their reserves) at times will also be an interesting and stimulating part of the role. Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate and a valid driving license is essential. A works van and work mobile phone is provided.

Applicants should be comfortable in loading and unloading vehicles, happy to work most weekends, most bank holidays and when required some unsociable hours (early mornings/late evenings) at times.

If you have a passion for saving nature and want to inspire others to do the same, please get in touch. They look forward to hearing from you.
