Our Mesirow Financial Wealth Advisors (MWA) business provides investment management and fiduciary services to individuals, families, corporations and non - profit organizations. With over $6.0 Billion in assets under management, we have earned a reputation for effectively managing our clients' needs and goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of strategic initiatives that drive the future growth of the wealth management business working in partnership with senior leadership. This individual will be an innovate and entrepreneurial results driven leader with the gravitas to foster collaboration and gain the necessary buy in and support to drive positive change across the business. Additionally, an ability to enhance our already strong client-oriented culture and work environment in which employees collaborate and enjoy working together is key.
Lead MWA business on a broad range of strategic, operational and financial issues, including ensuring effective leadership, management and day to day operational oversight.
Participate as a member or leader in all committees of MWA.
Challenge every part of MWA operational functions so that MWA is the most efficient, streamlined, technically appropriate firm that they can be.
In conjunction with Executive Committee, CEO of MWA and Mesirow Financial Holdings leadership, responsible for defining, developing and successfully implementing an MWA strategic growth plan focused on increasing AUM, revenue, profits and possibly, product expansion.
Develop client growth and retention activities. Be active in our communities to advocate on behalf of the MWA business. Participate in the sales process which increases advisor retention and loyalty.
Monitor MWA's direct and indirect competitors to see where the industry is going, and if we need tweaks or full-scale shifts in our growth strategy.
Attend all related trade organizations, conferences and committees to expand and improve MWA.
Collaborate and build relationships with all other MFH business units, especially business leaders.
Requirement and Skills
Demonstrated proven track record of leadership that has resulted in meeting and exceeding growth goals.
Excellent communications skills to be able work with, be respectful of and follow a request or problem from beginning to end with employees of every level.
At least five years as a leader within a wealth management business of similar size to MWA ($6b AUM).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, risk governance and organizational design.
Well-developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with the demonstrated ability to partner effectively in a highly entrepreneurial and innovative environment.
Excellent presentation skills with a superior ability to effectively present complex concepts and issues in a highly compelling, persuasive, fact-based manner.
Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus. Relevant regulatory/industry accreditation.
