Civil Avoidance - Exeter - NRSWA - PIA - Fibre - Telecoms - Health and Safety - Quality Assurance

I am hiring 2x positions for a Civil Avoidance Team Operative Permanent role in the Exeter.

A Civil Avoidance Team Operative is responsible with aiding the role out of the FTTX build as well as when called upon to undertake works on the gully sucker or civil avoidance team ensuring all works are undertaken in an efficient and safe manner and in line with all H&S and compliance requirements. As well as this a Civil Avoidance Team Operative will oversee the quality assurance of work on site

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Operatives engaged to perform OSP work set as a task by the supervisor.
  • Working alongside the gully sucking vehicle, jetting trailers or Rod and Rope network were needed when requested by the Civil Avoidance Team Supervisor
  • Working alongside the Gully Sucking/Civil Avoidance Team Operatives to ensure that works are completed in a safe manner and in line with business expectations.
  • To oversee quality assurance of work on site.
  • To provide feedback on issues to the Supervisor.
  • To work with Supervisors to come up with solutions on issued sections of PIA.
  • Work to achieve personal, team and company KPI's and Objectives in line with the company's performance incentive payment.
  • Compliance with all HSE rules/policies/procedures and applicable legislative provisions as well appropriate PPE, and to ensure that team members and contractors under their supervision also work following safety practices

Requirements:

  • The clear understanding of operational delivery in a commercially focused business environment.
  • The ability to respect and follow safety procedures and to ensure others do so too.
  • A problem solver and solution provider
  • Experience of PIA (ESSENTIAL)
  • Aptitude to motivate, challenge and support a team on projects with a strict deadline.

Qualifications

  • A MINIMUM of 2 years construction experience within the Telecoms sector.
  • NRSWA certificate for operatives (MANDATORY)
  • CSCS card (or Equivalent)
  • Full valid UK driving license.
  • Class 2 HGV/LGV lorry license (Desired)
