Perform architectural and engineering design, develop, and test, and integrate multiple vendor products into the company's voice network. Establish the integrity, viability, functionality, and capacity of voice network architecture by assisting in writing, executing detailed test plans, and documenting test results. Automate the execution of test plans to certify network elements deployed in the company's voice network IP multimedia subsystem architecture. Configure and troubleshoot voice over internet protocols (VoIP). Perform IMS architecture, network implementation and network engineering with telephony and VoIP protocols including Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Session Description Protocol (SDP), Real Time Protocol (RTP) and H.248 Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP / Megaco). Perform voice network architecture validation with automation test scripts. Implement and test VoIP features. Create low-level and high-level design artifacts and support prototyping through creation of proof of concepts. Create detailed test plans to certify vendor software loads and validate platform fixes prior to production deployment. Perform scripting using Python and MySQL database management system and perform web services using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Utilize packets analyzer, network monitoring and debugging tools including Wireshark, tcpdump, snoop and Empirix XMS. Utilize Unix, Linux, Mac OS, Windows operating systems.
Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 5 years of experience: configuring and troubleshooting VoIP including IMS architecture and telephony call features using SIP, SDP, RTP, MGCP and H.248 Megaco; performing scripting using Python and MySQL; performing web services using SOAP; implementing and testing VoIP features; utilizing Wireshark, tcpdump, snoop and Empirix XMS network monitoring and debugging tools; and utilizing Unix, Linux, Mac OS and Windows operating systems.
