Community & Enterprise Resources (Roads and Transportation Services) are seeking an Operational Team Leader as part of a new centralised construction unit based in Canderside Depot.
You will have a background in road maintenance and construction in addition to knowledge of developing and managing works programmes. You will ensure the productivity and efficiency of the workforce, providing excellent customer service, knowledge and application of good health and safety practices, experience in dealing with arising disciplinary matters in addition to experience of contracting within a road maintenance environment. Knowledge of contract procurement procedures will also be advantageous.
This post involves the management of an area team dealing with routine, reactive and planned maintenance, including proprietary road treatments and liaison with subcontractors. You will be assisted by a Depot Manager and 2 Engineering Officers, 4 Supervisors and a team of approximately 32 Road Operatives and 12 Chargehands.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in an all year round standby rota for which payment of overtime and standby will be made.
An HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is essential.
Incorporated Engineer status with an appropriate Engineering body is desirable.Requirements
