Collateral Specialist

Annual Salary
  • Work with Head of Collateral Initiatives and industry stakeholders to deliver key components of the firm's blueprint for the optimal future state of collateral processing,
  • Track and report progress of collateral initiatives and key milestones against an agreed roadmap that supports the firm's strategy for collateral management and initial margin,
  • Work with Head of Collateral initiatives to identify and support a working group structure that facilitates the delivery of firm's collateral management objectives, ensuring that working groups reflect the breadth and diversity of the firm's members active in the collateral management space,
  • Assist with market surveillance activities that provide appropriate internal feedback to support implementation of remaining margin rules and ensure that the firm's strategy remains aligned to the evolving landscape,
  • Work with colleagues to develop and deliver educational materials that support market participants to i) comply with changes to margin rules, and ii) understand and embrace the opportunity for greater efficiency facilitated by process transformation and adoption of technology solutions,
  • Support colleagues with development and deployment of the firm's solutions to collateral management challenges
  • See the big picture and support the Head of Collateral Initiatives to maintain key strategic deliverables at the forefront of the planning and communicating process,
  • Understand how industry governance relates to the firm's overall goals and objectives and industry standard setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of the margin and collateral management process and associated actors as well as a strong understanding of the specific industry challenges that market participants face,
  • Strong awareness of regulatory changes which impact on OTC derivative asset classes and in particular, the collateral management function,
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and proactively contribute ideas, views and recommendations,
  • Strong ability to promote change and manage resistance and have difficult conversations while maintaining working relationships,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to address issues with tact and diplomacy in order to reach consensus across a wide range of market participants,
  • Detail-oriented in composing, typing and proofing materials,
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience of Microsoft Project or similar project management applications is beneficial,
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic which demonstrates an appreciation for punctuality, reliability and a desire to drive change and achieve results,
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with change,
  • Team-player who contributes to success of the immediate team and the firm's as a whole.
Collateral Initiatives, is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the firm's strategy for transforming collateral management, including as it relates to the implementation of margin rules. A critical responsibility of the role will be to support colleagues and the development and implementation of solutions to industry challenges both current and those identified as necessary.
