District Sales Manager - Industrial Hydraulics

Join the leadership team at SunSource, one of the countrys largest and most successful fluid power distributors headquartered in Addison, IL. We are currently seeking a District Sales Manager (DSM) for the Industrial Hydraulics Business Unit, Managing sales territories in Western Michigan.
Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, you will manage Account Managers to meet critical sales objectives. Specifically, you will develop, coach and lead the sales team to be at the desired productivity levels to achieve established goals in terms of sales, district profitability, and specific company initiatives. While managing sales operations for the specific district, the DSM will also develop and manage positive relationships with key suppliers. The success of the DSM in achieving these objectives will be measured by sales and team performance based on established plan.
SunSource represents quality manufacturers and key product lines in the areas of industrial and mobile hydraulics, pneumatics, automation/motion control, lubrication and filtration related industrial components and services, including system design and service and repair. The Industrial Hydraulic business unit focuses on serving the hydraulic needs of Industrial and MRO Customers.
The qualified candidate will have the following education, work history, knowledge and skills:
Education: Bachelors degree strongly desired in Engineering, Marketing or Business. 2 year Technical degree is a minimum requirement.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of increasingly responsible sales experience, with at least 3 years in sales management. Experience in distribution of fluid power products and systems, specifically to the Industrial hydraulic MRO market, is integral to the success in this position. Knowledge and skills: Proven ability to motivate and manage a sales group is required. This includes ability to obtain productivity improvement, and to help account managers achieve higher sales levels. The successful candidate should have P&L familiarity, including the ability to work with and/or establish budgets, forecasts, sales reports, etc. The ability to take a long-term business view of sales is important.
