Head of Analytics

As the Head of Analytics you'll lead and develop the Dixons Carphone Analytics Centre of Excellence and leverage advanced analytics to improve effectiveness of critical business decisions You'll work cross functionally to extract strategic insight from customer data across brands, channels, products & services to enable the development of new and existing propositions to increase profit and customer lifetime value. The position has significant scope to influence and drive bottom line profit with the opportunity to drive development and exploitation of Analytics & Decision Sciences across Dixons Carphone Group

Key responsibilities:

Build strategic analytics capability

  • Create centre of excellence for analytics across DC supporting all business areas, especially Marketing, Commercial, and Retail covering all categories and channels. You'll expand existing decision science team, building capability for machine learning, propensity modelling, and use of advanced analytics. Recruit and manage onshore and offshore analytics teams (currently 9 FTEs onshore and 6 offshore, but expected grow over FY1920)
  • Manage selection and ongoing relationships with 3rd party analytics partners, both onshore and offshore (e.g. MuSigma, Accenture, GainTheory, PwC)

Develop Dixons Carphone decision science strategy and capabilities

  • Provide thought leadership on and support development of data science roadmap across Dixons Carphone
  • Lead deployment of specific analytics programmes and initiatives - e.g. churn models, customer segmentation, improved cross channel targeting and personalisation, omnichannel conversion optimisation, availability improvement, path to purchase optimisation
  • Focus on creation, development and deployment of predictive and prescriptive models using advanced programming languages and machine learning

Drive marketing and operational effectiveness

  • Provide insight and support for marketing and wider business (e.g. Commercial, Property, Space, Retail)
  • Guide and direct exploitation of advanced analytics for more effective proposition development and communication, e.g. marketing effectiveness measurement and tracking, drivers of sales and customer experience, econometrics and attribution modelling
  • Lead implementation and execution of new price optimisation software (Revionics), working closely with key stakeholders in Customer, Marketing and Commercial teams

Key skills and experience:

  • Bachelors / Masters Degree; PhD / MBA / MSc in Data Science / Professional qualifications (ACA, CIMA) beneficial
  • Extensive experience within Retail / Telco consulting, Commercial Finance / Analytics - which includes hands on experience in within data and customer analytics and modelling, proven experience managing analytics teams
  • Strong understanding of analytical methods, processes and platforms and how to leverage them
  • EComm / Retail / Loyalty / Customer management Experience
