Established in 2003, my West Midlands based contract cleaning provider have from winning their initial contract grown organically to a business with a turnover of £9.5m turnover and an annual growth of 15% per annum. They provide their services to a broad band of clients, across the West Midlands, the East Midlands and into the neighbouring regions. Their clients are from a devise range of sectors including office/commercial buildings, manufacturing, theatres, schools, venues etc. As well as cleaning they also offer other FM related services such as specialist cleaning, estate cleaning, window cleaning, carpets/upholstery cleaning, washroom supplies and emergency response. They put a strong emphasis on the retention of staff (of the 500 plus staff 30% of them have been employed for 10 years plus) and this retention of staff is reflected in their ability to retention contracts. I am currently partnering with them to appoint an additional Contracts Manager to add to their existing team.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the operational and fiscal management of a mixed portfolio of around 20 sites based in the West Midlands area, below is a broad overview of the duties.

* Managing a team of Supervisors and Cleaning Operatives (with contract support) ensuring they fully comply with company procedures.

* Ensuring operative team are aware of their daily duties, have sufficient resources for their completion, ensuring any training needs are identified and the relevant training is provided

* Carry out audits within the prescribed time period

* Work within budgetary constraints driving profitability (for which a bonus is paid)

* Attend regular service review meetings with Clients

* Health and Safety management and compliance

* Ensure all contractual obligations and KPIs are met

* Conduct HR duties as appropriate

Candidates for the Contracts Manager role will reside within 10-15 miles of Birmingham (they believe that regular working in the head office fosters a strong team ethic and support), be presentable, fiscally aware with strong communication skill, you must understand the cleaning industry and how to successfully manage cleaning contracts, be thick skinned to deal with the ups and down that cleaning can bring and enjoy the daily challenges of the sector in keeping your operatives, clients and line management happy.

Salary circa £30k, bonus based on your regions profit, 28 days holiday, pension scheme, tools of the trade provided such as an electric car, laptop, phone etc.
