Junior Technical architect

Based in Stoke
£50,000 - £60,000 per annum
The Technical Architect will play a key role in the design, implementation and support of innovative, accreditable, cost efficient and profitable solutions to comply with HMG's security classification system. These solutions are central for the Company's secure managed ICT services to MoD and other public-sector customers.
Manage the design process, including participating in reviews, and documenting relevant inputs.
Manage the development, evaluation and implementation of the Company's Technology Roadmap
Produce all design documentation where appropriate. Including handover to Service Operations for build and support activities.
Ensure all appropriate installation documentation is produced and aligns to the HLD.
Manage the technical day to day relationship with internal customer service teams and 3rd party supplier interfaces.
Skills and Qualifications
Recent experience of designing and delivering solutions using traditional infrastructure components (Compute/Storage/Networking). Knowledge of HCI technologies would be an advantage.
Networking (Switching, Routing, physical and virtual etc.)
Security (Firewalls, IDS etc.)
Storage (iSCSI, Fibre Channel etc.)
OS (Windows Server 2012 upto 2019, CentOS & Linux in general)
Applications & Services (Active Directory, Messaging & Collaborative Software)
Systems Management Tools (AD, WSUS etc.)
(Must) Minimum of 12 months experience in delivering complex technology projects.
(Must) Minimum of 3 years experience of build, test and implementation of systems, along with 3rd line operational support.
(Should) A good understanding of current HMG security classifications.
(Should) Experience of managed service environments, with an awareness of ITIL best practice.
