Involvement with several key initiatives within Model Risk Policy & Governance to further evolve the governance activities in Model Risk Management including:

  • Helping to advance BCBS239 compliance by Model Risk in areas including data lineage, data quality metrics, data governance, data handshakes and others
  • Supporting the BCBS239 compliance annual self-assessment for Model Risk
  • Supporting BCBS239 controls included in the MRPG risk & control self-assessment
  • Helping to refine RCSA requirements around MRPG activities
  • Supporting all required governance activities for the BCBS239 Oversight Forum
  • Involvement with the ongoing inventory designed including data quality controls.
  • Engagement with MRPG reporting team, helping to ensure report data changes follow required BCBS239 governance
  • Supporting the transition of compliance activities into BAU
  • General involvement with other daily MRPG activities, such as model attestation process, control processes across all model families, model identification process, and production of committee level reports.

QUALIFICATIONS: Training, licenses, memberships, and certifications

  • Awareness and understanding of Model Risk Management with particular focus on Governance activities.
  • Strong understanding of the Banking industry, particularly Emerging Markets and the economy, Basel regulatory requirements and broad risk management themes that impact the Bank.
  • Awareness and understanding of the firm's business strategy, risk models and their applications in relation to the strategic direction of the Bank.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with previous experience in portfolio analysis and familiarity with banking and capital markets products for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the firm.
  • Experience in designing and/or implementing risk policies and standards. Ability to provide a balance between independence and supportive business engagement.
  • Awareness and thorough understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates including operational risk concepts.
  • Highly responsive with excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to explain complex matters in simple and intuitive terms to non-technical audiences both internally and externally.
